Introducing THE GLAD HOURS: essential apparel for lounging inspired by the very essence of bohemian life with a contemporary twist. Taking its cue from a myriad of creatives extending from artists and musicians to the poets of yesteryear, the debut collection of silk pajamas in an assortment of brightly-colored hues ultimately pays tribute to Matisse (who, let’s not forget, created a vast body of his 'cut outs' work from his bed). Merging luxury and leisure, the MATISSE collection forms a perfect foundation for the new L.A-based brand as additional loungewear silhouettes, a bespoke bridal collection and accessories will be added to the line in mid-2016, ensuring the perfect ensemble in which to delve into ones dreamscape in the spirit of the great creatives of the 21st century. 

Founded by SoCal native Dominique Porter, THE GLAD HOURS reflects a culmination of knowledge acquired over the past decade studying Photography and Art History at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, interning for brands and photographers such as Behnaz Sarafpour and David LaChapelle, receiving her Masters in Modern and Contemporary Art from Christie’s in London, and more recently working with Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills. Enthralled by leisurewear looks of the 1930s, upon realising her ambition of bringing back sleepwear into modern society, Dominique collaborated with a tailor to develop a basic design and has been successfully testing the boundaries of them from her office headquarters in Venice Beach ever since (complete with Maestro, her beloved Border Terrier in tow).
